It’s the end of January 2025. The Bicep community call has just finished yesterday with some fresh new features and insights given by the team members and community. Time to go a few of the outstanding ones.

Copilot for Bicep

Many AI tools available already produce helpful Bicep code if you prompt for it. Despite this, one of the engineers on the Azure infrastructure team provided us with a demo through the Azure Portal, demonstrating more accurate Bicep code generation by Copilot for Bicep.

Gary Li explained that Copilot for Bicep could hook into the APIs directly, fetch the latest definitions, and, in this manner, provide more accurate data models that ultimately generate these code blocks for you.

The team has also been looking to bring Copilot for Bicep to Visual Studio Code and include examples to integrate with the well-known Azure Verified Modules (AVM). It would also be a great addition if the code generated by Copilot follows the rules set by AVM.

Update on MSGraph Bicep Types

Dan Kershaw was back on the call to tell that the MSGraph Bicep types has a new version released. The version has been bumped up towards v0.1.9-preview.
